Types of student worker programs.

There are two types of student worker programs. These are defined below.

  1. The Federal Student Worker Program allows a student's hourly wages to be paid from federal aid funds. We typically have more funding available under the federal program, which allows for more student worker positions. However, not all applicants are eligible under the Federal Student Worker Program.
  2. The Non-Federal Student Worker Program allows a student's salary to be paid from the departmental budget in which the student is employed.

To apply for the Student Worker Program, please complete the following:

  • Submit the Student Worker Application
(A simple, 10-question inquiry that typically takes less than 5 minutes to complete.)
  • Complete the FAFSA for the current award year, if not done already
  • Declare an Edison State program (degree or certificate)
  • Register for a minimum of one (1) credit hour

Once the items above are completed, your application will be released for review to all hiring supervisors at the College. They will contact you directly to set up an interview time.

→ Pay is based on the current minimum wage unless the position/supervisor indicates otherwise.
→ Current College Credit Plus students are not eligible for the Student Worker Programs.

NOTE  If you are an employee of Edison State Community College who has a need for a student worker in your department, classroom or campus—please fill out the Employee Student Worker Interest Form.
