Edison State to Host Annual Leadership Conference
The Paul G. Duke Academy for Community Leadership and the Center for Leadership Development at Edison State Community College will host the Mosaic of Community Leadership Conference on Wednesday, May 21, from 8 a.m. to 2:40 p.m. at Edison State’s Piqua Campus.
April 10, 2025

Keynote Speaker Chet W. Sisk
The annual conference brings together executive directors, board members, staff, and volunteers to explore in-depth topics related to nonprofit management and leadership.
The event will feature a keynote address provided by Chet W. Sisk, Founder of Universal Basic Resources and Co-Lead International.
Sisk, a futurist and founder of Universal Basic Resources, a change management company, and Co-Lead International, a nonprofit think tank on change leadership, emphasizes that we often misunderstand the transformative changes reshaping our world. He argues that the fear-driven narratives pervasive in pop culture and algorithms surrounding AI, climate change, and cultural shifts have distorted our perception of the future and diminished our sense of agency.
Sisk views AI as a critical tool that can help tackle significant human challenges, particularly climate change, and urges us not to overlook this opportunity. He believes that society needs to adapt and learn to effectively navigate this new technological landscape. Sisk uses the metaphor of learning to drive a new car: by understanding the technology, the journey ahead can become smoother and more manageable.
With extensive experience as a speaker and consultant, including positions with the Colorado state legislature and NVIDIA, Sisk outlines eight essential steps that organizations should take in 2025 to thrive in this emerging world. His work aims to inspire organizations to embrace change and recognize the possibilities that come with it.
The one-day conference also includes breakout education and work sessions led by nonprofit professionals. These sessions focus on a series of topics dedicated to strengthening nonprofit organizations, including communication, financial management, friendraising and fundraising, governance and leadership, human resources, and partnerships.
The Paul G. Duke Foundation’s continued support and generosity make this annual conference possible.
