Edison Stagelight Players to Present Pygmalion
The Edison Stagelight Players will present George Bernard Shaw’s “Pygmalion,” directed by Edison State Professor of English William Loudermilk. The group will hold performances April 4 through April 7 in the Robinson Theater at Edison State Community College’s Piqua Campus.
March 25, 2025

“Pygmalion” is a play about Eliza Doolittle, a lower-class flower girl who speaks with a Cockney accent, and Henry Higgins, a higher-class man who believes he can change her accent and pass her off as a duchess.
“Edison State’s latest theatrical production, ‘Pygmalion,’ brings George Bernard Shaw’s timeless story of transformation and social class to life with a fresh and creative interpretation,” Loudermilk said. “Featuring a talented cast of Edison State students and actors from the surrounding community, this production explores the play’s central question: Is the difference between a flower girl and a lady in how she acts or in how she is treated? With humor, fun takes on Cockney accents, and thought-provoking moments, our take on 1910 Edwardian London and this classic story is sure to entertain and inspire!”
The Edison Stagelight Players’ production of “Pygmalion” will include performances on Friday, April 4; Saturday, April 5; and Sunday, April 6, at 7:30 p.m. each night. Performances will also be held on Monday, April 7, at 9:30 a.m. and 1 p.m.
Tickets for the show are $10 for adults or $5 for students and seniors. For more information, email Director Loudermilk.
