Dr. Jeannette M. Passmore
Dr. Passmore brings over 15 years of progressive experience in higher education to the role. Most recently serving as Assistant Vice President of Student Affairs at Rhodes State College, she has worked with faculty, staff, and administrators to develop and implement strategic initiatives that measurably improve student outcomes. Through collaborative efforts during her tenure, Rhodes State saw a 2% reduction in students on academic warning and probation while increasing early student registration by 15%.
Throughout her career, Dr. Passmore has championed data-driven approaches to student success, notably leading the implementation of a comprehensive Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system and the award-winning Comprehensive Early Alert Program (CEAP), which received the American Association of Community Colleges’ Student Success Award. Her commitment to fostering collaborative environments has resulted in successful partnerships across academic and student services divisions, improving student satisfaction and retention outcomes.
“Dr. Passmore’s years of experience in student affairs and her approach to making data-driven decisions will be invaluable to our work at Edison State,” said Provost Dr. Melissa Wertz. “Her passion for helping others and focus on improving retention, persistence, and completion align well with Edison State’s mission of student success. Dr. Passmore’s leadership will be integral to advancing the student affairs department.”
Dr. Passmore holds a Doctor of Education in Higher Education Administration from the University of Nebraska Lincoln, where her dissertation focused on the academic advising experiences of adult students. Her deep understanding of student success strategies and extensive leadership experience position her well to advance Edison State’s mission of student success. She has presented at state, regional, and national conferences on student success, academic advising, and time management for professionals. She is also an alumna of the American Association of Community Colleges’ John E. Roueche Future Leaders Institute.
“I began my academic career as a community college student and witnessed firsthand how community colleges serve as catalysts for individual and community transformation,” Dr. Passmore said. “Edison State’s dedication to providing accessible, quality education resonates with my student-centered leadership approach. I look forward to advancing our mission of empowering individuals to dream big while ensuring we provide the resources and support systems necessary for their success.”
