Rather than focusing on grammar rules, we’ll dive straight into practical conversations—so you can confidently chat with native speakers in everyday situations. Through fun, interactive exercises, you’ll build your vocabulary, learn common phrases, and easily develop the skills to express yourself in Spanish. Whether traveling, connecting with Spanish-speaking colleagues, or just starting out, this workshop will give you the tools to communicate effectively and enjoy the process. Let’s start talking!
Conversational Spanish for Beginners is taught by Deanna Chappie, a Spanish high school teacher for 34 years. Chappie has also volunteered to provide document and in-person translation services for various non-profit organizations.
During Session #1 on Tuesday, April 1, 2025, learn how to:
- Use formal and informal greetings and goodbyes
- Introduce yourself
- Participate in basic conversations
- Express courtesy
- Demonstrate proper pronunciation
During Session #2 on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, learn how to:
- Describe people
- Use numbers from 1-100 in practical situations
- Express the day and date
- Tell time
