The 1879 Society.
The 1879 Society recognizes individuals who have included Edison State Community College through The Edison Foundation in their estate plans, creating a legacy of support for future generations. Named for the year Thomas Edison perfected electric light, the Society celebrates visionary donors whose generosity provides an enduring spark, illuminating educational opportunities and helping students achieve their dreams for years to come.
Members of The 1879 Society receive:
- Recognition in The Edison Foundation Annual Impact Report (unless anonymity is preferred)
- Invitation to an annual 1879 Society Recognition Luncheon

Founding Member Designation
Individuals who document their estate commitment before December 31, 2027, will be recognized as Founding Members of The 1879 Society, permanently commemorating their role in establishing this enduring legacy society.
