Under the agreement, students who complete their Associate of Arts or Associate of Science at Edison State and continue into an arts and sciences or a general studies bachelor’s program at IU East are guaranteed transfer of their earned credits. This allows students to transfer a minimum of 60 credit hours from Edison State to satisfy the general education requirements of their bachelor’s degree at IU East, helping them save money while pursuing their educational goals.
“Edison State is committed to creating clear, affordable pathways that help our students continue their education without losing the progress they have already made,” Spradlin said. “This agreement allows our associate degree graduates to move forward with confidence toward completing a high-quality bachelor’s degree at IU East. We value our partnership with IU East and the expanded opportunities it creates for students throughout our region to continue their education and achieve their goals.”
Rome added, “Our seamless admittance partnership with Edison State creates a clear, affordable, and reliable pathway for Edison State students to become IU East graduates. It reduces credit loss, simplifies admissions, strengthens advising, lowers costs, and builds a shared student-support ecosystem—all while reinforcing IU East’s role as the region’s most accessible and supportive four-year institution.”
IU East offers in-state tuition rates for students in 15 western Ohio counties, with an annual tuition cost of approximately $9,000. Eligible students may also qualify for scholarships of up to $4,000, with $2,000 awarded annually for up to two years for full-time enrollment or $1,000 awarded annually for up to four years for half-time enrollment. Scholarship application deadlines are August 1 for the fall semester and January 1 for the spring semester.
