Edison State to Host Launch Event for New Workforce Incentives

As part of its celebration of Manufacturing Month in October, Edison State Community College will host a complimentary breakfast for industry partners on Wednesday, October 7, 2026. The event, “Funding Your Workforce: Training Incentives and Solutions,” will take place from 8 to 9:30 a.m. in the Robinson Theater at the Piqua Campus.

The event will cover training pathways, including the new JobsOhio Technician Pathway, that support in-demand technical careers; strategies for building and retaining a skilled workforce; information on how the Strategic Ohio Council for Higher Education can guide organizations through every step of the funding process; and details about leveraging TechCred funding to help offset employee training expenses.

Designed to help employers strengthen their talent pipeline and address critical technical workforce needs, the JobsOhio Technician Pathway provides funding for employees in an approved training program. Organizations can receive up to $10,000 per worker, with payments received based on employees’ progress through educational training. Employers can use these funds to cover program costs, such as worker wages, tuition, lost supervisor productivity, recruiting, or administration.

TechCred helps employers upskill their current and future workforce and enhance the overall competitiveness of Ohio’s economy by providing direct financial assistance for training. The program may reimburse employers up to $1,000 per employee, with a maximum award of $30,000 per application period. The next application window will be open October 1-31, 2026.
