Edison State, Honda to Offer Manufacturing Bootcamp in July
Edison State Community College will host Charge Your Future: Manufacturing Bootcamp, presented by Honda, July 20-31, 2026, at Edison State’s Piqua Campus. Designed for students ages 16 and up, this two‑week hybrid training program builds the foundational, job‑ready skills needed for today’s modern manufacturing careers.
June 9, 2026
Charge Your Future will allow individuals to explore hands-on careers, build practical skills, and gain exposure to opportunities in advanced manufacturing. Participants will learn about high-demand careers in manufacturing and technology while gaining real-world, hands-on experience with modern manufacturing concepts. The camp also introduces career pathways that can lead to strong wages, long-term career growth, and continued educational opportunities. In addition, students will strengthen important workplace skills such as confidence, teamwork, communication, and problem-solving.
During the camp, participants will complete relevant online coursework, take part in hands-on, project-based labs, tour Honda facilities, and learn directly from Honda industry experts. They’ll earn the nationally recognized Certified Manufacturing Associate credential from Tooling U-SME, which is worth three points toward K-12 graduation. During the camp, students will gain experience in:
- CNC machining
- Robotics and automation
- Quality control
- Safety
- Lean manufacturing
- AI in manufacturing
The program also includes a guided tour of the Honda Anna Engine Plant, with transportation provided. Those who successfully complete the camp with 100% attendance will receive a $250 stipend. A mandatory orientation day is set for Monday, July 13, 2026.
Charge Your Future is ideal for high school students exploring future career options, recent graduates unsure of their next step, and individuals who thrive in hands-on learning environments rather than traditional classroom-only settings. It’s also a great fit for students interested in robotics, engineering, technology, or manufacturing careers, as well as those wanting to learn more about opportunities with Honda and other advanced manufacturing employers.
