Federal regulations require that institutions that receive Title IV Funding provide specific consumer information about the school to prospective and currently enrolled students, and in some cases, employees. Listed below is the information that Edison State Community College is required to disclose and the web links, brochures, catalogs and/or handbooks where this information can be found.

Below are each of the College offices that will be sending required disclosures to enrolled students via email at least once a year. If you have questions regarding any of this Consumer Information, contact the individuals below during regular business hours.

      Last date of attendance between one and five years

      Must complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and accept any need-based state or federal grants to which you are entitled
      Cannot be a recipient of any of the following Ohio scholarships: Choose Ohio First, Ohio Safety Officers College Memorial Fund, War Orphans and Severely Disabled Veterans' Scholarship Program, Ohio National Guard Scholarship
      Must declare a major at Edison State Community College
      Must submit this application with the program registration/enrollment form
      Must stay continuously enrolled in the approved program for fund to continue term to term

      Must be a child, spouse or qualified former spouse of a peace officer, firefighter or other qualified safety officer who was killed in the line of duty or the child or spouse of a member of the U.S. armed services who was killed in the line of duty during Operation Enduring Freedom, Operation Iraqi Freedom or a combat zone designated by the President of the United States
      Is not qualified for the Ohio War Orphan & Beverly Disabled Veterans' Children Scholarship Program

    • As Edison State Community College is not a residential campus, there is no policy related to vaccination of students except in the case of those students enrolled in certain health care programs.     • The required/recommended course textbooks and/or materials can be found via the Edison State Official Online Bookstore. The Bookstore link can be found under the Resources button located at the top of every Edison State web page.     FEDERAL LOANS
    • Entrance Counseling is completed to ensure that you understand the terms and conditions of your federal loan and your rights and responsibilities as a borrower. You are required to complete Entrance Counseling before your requested federal loan disburses to you account. You can complete this Entrance Counseling at the following website.  Studentaid.gov
    • Exit Counseling is completed to ensure that you understand your student loan obligations and are prepared for repayment. You are required to complete Exit Counseling when you leave school or drop below half-time enrollment (six (6) credits as an undergraduate student).     • Annual Student Loan Acknowledgement may be completed to help you understand your loans and how they affect your financial future. Completing this Acknowledgement is currently optional, and may be done each year before you accept your federal loans.     • Special PLUS Counseling helps borrowers understand the obligations associated with borrowing a PLUS loan. This process is required if the U.S. Department of Education has informed you that you have an adverse credit history and you have either obtained an endorser or documented extenuating circumstances to the satisfaction of the U.S. Department of Education.     • a financial institution that solicits, make or extends private education loans;
    • a federal credit union, as defined in Section 1752 of Title 12, that solicits, makes or extends private education loans, or;
    • any other person engaged in the business of soliciting, making or extending private education loans.
    PRIVATE EDUCATION LOAN
    • A loan provided by a private educational lender that is not a Title IV loan and that is issued expressly for postsecondary education expenses to a borrower, regardless of whether the loan is provided through the educational institution that the student attends or directly to the borrower from the private educational lender. A private education loan does not include
      • an extension of credit under an open-end consumer credit plan, a reverse mortgage transaction, a residential mortgage transaction or any other loan that is secured by real property or a dwelling;
      • an extension of credit in which the educational institution is the lender if
        • the term of the extension of credit is 90 days or less, or
        • an interest rate will not be applied to the credit balance and the term of the extension of credit is one year or less, even if the credit is payable in more than four installments.
    INSTITUTION-AFFILIATED ORGANIZATION
    • An institution that is directly or indirectly related to a covered institution and recommends, promotes or endorses education loans for students attending the covered institution or their families. An institution-affiliated organization may include an alumni organization; athletic organization; foundation; or social, academic or professional organization of a covered institution and does not include any lender with respect to any education loan secured, made or extended by such lender.  Edison State does not have a Preferred Lender list.
